The first written records of Casa Bellavista, from the second half of the 18th Century, tell of a farm that worked extensive areas of the fertile land around the house until the end of the 1960's.
The small house within the ground was originally built as a drying shed where the tobacco would be lightly dried before being sent off for manufacture. The ground floor rooms of Casa Bellavista were originally the stables for the cattle, the famous white "Chiana" breed particular to this valley. The upper floor was the family home. Today only the outer walls and a few internal features remain to remind us of those times, owing to extensive restoration during the 70's and 80's.
Casa Bellavista is situated on a hill overlooking the valley. To the south the ancient Abbey of Farneta is visible, to the southwest Monte Amiata, to the west the town of Foiano della Chiana, to the northwest the valley of Arezzo and to the northeast a marvellous view of the town of Cortona.
We have decided to open our home to those who wish to experience the simple rhythm of Tuscan country life. It is certainly an unforgettable experience to wake to the twittering of birds or to the call of "Chicco" the rooster, to breakfast on the genuine products of our land and to relax in the garden with a glass of fine wine.
We have destined four bedrooms, one in the dependance, all with private bathrooms, to these guests. In addition our family rooms are all open for use: the library and study, the sitting rooms and the dining room, where upon request we can serve dinners based on traditional farmhouse cuisine.

It is furnished with a wardrobe and toilette from the 1800’s, a liberty chest of drawers, armchairs and chairs from the 1800’s and a Persian carpet. The walls are pale pink. |
 Camera Verde: faces north and has views over Arezzo, Castiglion Fiorentino and Cortona, and looks over our grove of olive and fruit trees. It has a king-size bed and a bathroom with shower. It is furnished with a table and wardrobe in liberty style, chairs from the 1800’s and a Persian carpet. The walls are pale green. |
 Camera Azzurra: faces northwest. This room has views over Sinalunga, Monte San Savino, Lucignano, Arezzo and Castiglion Fiorentino. It has a queen-size bed which can be converted to twin beds, also a large bathroom with separate bath and shower and double sinks. It is furnished with pieces from the 1800’s and has a Persian carpet. The walls are pale blue. |
 Camera dei Fagiani: is a new room in the restored smaller building (20 metres from the main house). This room has a view of Cortona and the pastoral fields of nearby farms. The name means “pheasants' room”. You can hear and see pheasants during the day, because the rolling farmlands around Casa Bellavista are part of a game preserve. The room has a queen-size bed and bathroom with shower. It is furnished with pieces from the 1800’s including a wardrobe, toilette and chest of drawers. The walls are pale cream. The carpet is Chinese. |
